For 3 days, the festival aims to create a world apart, a bubble of rejuvenating well-being. At LaSemo, attention to each and every one is paramount.
Since its creation in 2008, LaSemo has sought to contribute, in its own way, to the development of the society in which the festival takes place. Aware that our generations are facing unprecedented challenges, LaSemo wants to propose and experiment with concrete, positive solutions in line with its values.
LaSemo’s teaching approach is positive. Neither moralizing nor militant, the festival aims to bring about change through wonder, testimony and awareness, while respecting each and every one of us. While LaSemo is aware of some of its weaknesses and shortcomings, it is convinced that it is within the system and respecting the democratic and institutional framework that a sustainable transition has the best chance of taking root.

LIVING TOGETHER AND CITIZEN PARTICIPATION
LaSemo is co-constructed by a team of over 100 volunteers, active all year round, and by some 20 professionals, nurtured by constructive feedback from a passionate public. From decoration to sustainable initiatives, logistics to bar management, this super-team devotes heart, body and soul to dreaming up and implementing LaSemo.
LaSemo also brings together all generations through an open and caring festival.
RAISING AWARENESS
LaSemo is a place of sharing, conviviality and positive energies where inspiring people to act on their own scale is also a priority. Conferences on the challenges of tomorrow, actors from the associative sector and committed artists will prove that it is possible to build a more sustainable and respectful world together.
ACCESSIBILITY FOR ALL
Making our festival accessible means creating new experiences and contributing to the human, social and civic development of everyone. Every year, LaSemo develops new initiatives to promote accessibility for people with special needs: concerts translated into sign language, conferences interpreted in sign language, induction loops, a team trained to accompany people with special needs, accessible toilets, etc.
HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE FOOD
The foodtrucks present at LaSemo are subject to a demanding sustainable charter (organic criteria, short supply chain, seasonal) and must offer vegetarian menus and portions for children. A local farmers’ market delights our campers every morning. Finally, to feed its many volunteers, particularly during set-up and dismantling, LaSemo works with local producers on the outskirts of Enghien.
SOFT AND ALTERNATIVE MOBILITY
Mobility remains the biggest impact of any event. Together with our festival-goers, we take action to reduce our impact: group departures by bike, guarded bike parking, reduced-price public transport, car-sharing modules and shuttles at the end of the festival to get home without taking the car.
A MULTIPLE AND PLURAL CULTURAL OFFER
LaSemo is diversity in the cultural landscape with various artistic expressions. Particular attention is paid to emerging young talent and committed Belgian artists.
A CULTURE OF PARTY AND CONSENT
At LaSemo, relationships and exchanges are based on respect. No form of violence, physical or verbal, or intolerance is accepted within the festival framework.
To ensure a respectful environment where everyone can feel at ease, LaSemo is setting up a system to take care of VSS victims during the festival.
PRESERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES
There’s no such thing as a zero-carbon event, but LaSemo keeps its footprint to a minimum. Each action is based on the “5Rs” theory: refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, return to the earth. Among the many historic initiatives (reusable cups, dry toilets, refusal of single-use plastic and eco-designed scenography), in 2021 LaSemo launched reusable tableware bonded throughout the festival.
